Two-month report – the car is paying for itself!

Well, it’s been 2 months since I have had this EV. All in all, I am delighted with the experience and really have no complaints.

Since new, the car has averaged 4.6 miles per kilowatt-hour (KWH) and I have only recharged at home, so far, and at off-peak hours, which costs $.11 per KWH. I have driven 2,200 miles, so my energy cost has been $52.61!! My previous car was a Honda S2000 and I would pay about $40/week for gasoline. Just considering energy costs, I have saved $270 in 2 months.

Now that Honda has reduced the lease price to $259 (I am still waiting for a statement that reflects this change, but I can be patient), this means that my fuel savings are paying half the lease cost. And without the mileage cap, there is every incentive to drive as many miles as practical and leave the ICE buggy in the garage.
